Blizzard reveals a New Structure for Hearthstone Esports

Blizzard Entertainment developed a new program for Hearthstone Esports 2019, focus on creating a more sustainable, entertaining and accessible experience to fans. With this idea in mind Blizzard introduced a new system known as Hearthstone Master and it will be available in March.

The new system works with three levels. The first level will be The Master Open Qualifiers, and consist of weekly online tournaments. During the Master qualifying season, Blizzard will run 30 tournaments through the online tournament platform battlefy, and every player will compete on their own schedule.

Top Hearthstone players will be able to qualify for the Master Tour events through an online tournament exclusive to the top 200 players on the game ranked ladder.

The Master Tour will consist of multiple large scales, in-person tournaments throughout the year, and the first one would be at the LINQ Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on June, the first event will offer the base amount $250,000 as the prize pool.

Blizzard also will implement a crowdfunding method to increase the prize pool for the Master Tournament, by giving fans the opportunity to acquire in-game items.

For this 2019 Hearthstone World Championship, Blizzard will get rid of the old Conquest format and replace it for a new format called Specialist. Under this new format, players will be able to submit three decks from the same class, designate one as the primary deck or switch to one of the others.

The Deck decisions for games two and three will be perfume at the start of each match simultaneously and will be kept as a secret from the opposing player.

This Master tour will also take place in Asia and Europe later in the year. More stops will be add in 2020.
